GOSS LAKE

A small cabin on Whidbey Island, built in the 1970's, was in need of some air and light.  With a dramatic slope from the street to the lake, this house has two levels that each open out to the yard.

The intent was to open up a once claustrophobic space and provide more bedrooms and a living room downstairs for the kids.

The original stair was very steep due to its location and spatial constraints. This became the major design move as everything then opened onto the stair.
